Anything you type, post, or send online โ even if you delete it later โ could still be out there. Photos, words, videos. Think before you press send.
Mum and Dad's rule: before sending anything online, would you say it to that person's face? Would you be OK if grandma saw it tomorrow? If yes โ go ahead. If no โ don't send it.
In a game, in a chat, in comments โ anyone could be on the other side. A "12-year-old girl" could be a 40-year-old man. You can't tell.
Sometimes you'll be looking at something normal and a weird link, picture, or pop-up shows up. Close it. Tell a grown-up. You're not in trouble โ you didn't do anything wrong.
Some games have chat. Some chats have mean people. If someone says nasty things or asks for things that feel wrong: stop replying, screenshot, tell mum or dad.
Screens make your brain run faster, which makes it harder to fall asleep. We turn off devices at least 30 minutes before bed. The brain needs that time to settle.
Take breaks. Go outside. The internet will still be there in an hour.
The internet is a tool. The same way you don't use a knife alone in the kitchen yet, you don't use the internet without grown-up rules.
If something feels wrong โ stop, screenshot, tell a grown-up. You won't be in trouble. We'll figure it out together.
